About Us

The Home Business Network is run by WordZone Ltd. For many years WordZone ran from the home of its founder, Dave Sumner Smith. As the business grew, so did the size of the WordZone team, so the company relocated to a converted barn in a nearby village. Some members of the WordZone staff always work from home, while others work from home part of the time. WordZone also employs many freelance contributors who are home businesses.

Over the past decade, WordZone has run The Sunday Times Enterprise Network (in the UK and Ireland) and – since January 2006 – the Telegraph Business Club.

These multi-media programmes were established to offer help and advice to small and medium-sized companies via newspapers, websites, electronic newsletters and business events.

As well as an intimate knowledge of smaller businesses in the UK, they also gave WordZone an insight into the rapid growth of the home business sector – and an appreciation of the fact that home businesses have been poorly served by traditional media. Home Business Network and its various affiliates and partners are determined to meet this need from home businesses, virtual businesses and people who regularly work from home.
