How to do marketing and sales – in a nutshell

 

Marketing isn’t complicated. It is all about attracting the right people to want to buy from you when they have that need/want/itch. And it is about getting them to buy at a price that gives you the profit that you want.

The point
If you can’t simply explain why people should buy from you then you’ve got problems.
 
So…

One-minute exercise
In ten words or less, explain why people should buy from you and what makes you different from the competition!

If you can’t succinctly describe what you do then how do you expect the poor customer to know what you do!!

Stop and think

Why should people bother to buy from you if you are the same as the competition?

Sorry, I can’t think of a single reason! And I certainly can’t think of a single reason in a world where your competition is…

  • cheaper
  • or faster
  • or friendlier
  • or higher tech
  • or whatever!

The big question
In fact, this is the big question for banks, building societies, shops, consultants, pubs, and almost any business… Why should people bother to buy from you? (‘WSPB2BFY?’)
