Internet Marketing #9 Using Forums
One of the best long term strategies for attracting the right sort of traffic to your website or blog is 'Forum Marketing', according to Cary Ganz.
Amongst the first things you need to do before starting an online business is to decide upon or create your own niche. Once that has been done you can now focus on attracting targeted traffic from that niche.
In order to find forums that pertain to your niche all you have to do is get on over to Google and type the words, 'forum your niche' and click on the enter key. By the way, you really need to replace the words 'your niche' with 'your niche'. Obvious to some, not to others.
Then start posting good content and questions to your niche forum. Make sure that whenever possible that you include at least your website, your url and your offer in the reference box when you create your profile.
The goal is for you to become a well known participant in one or more forums and then, when readers of that forum see your contributions, they will not only find them informative but they will also click on the link in your profile and take a look at your website or blog.
This is not necessarily a quick fix for traffic.
We will go into some more fast action strategies in the next couple of articles but it is real important that once you start your traffic strategies, that they last. Just getting some quick traffic today will not keep your business going over the next months and years.
One of the things you need to get a grip on is that it takes work to get traffic but it doesn't have to be a daily, daunting task. Lots of these techniques can either be put on automatic or even outsourced.
Forum marketing, if done correctly and prolifically, can become a ongoing source of traffic with little or no effort on your part.
By the way, Article Marketing, as discussed in a previous article, works in very much the same way. Once your articles are out there, they are there forever. Anyone seeing your article, or forum post, today or next month or next year, may just click on that link and visit your website or blog.
In the next article we'll delve into one of the most frequently used techniques used today and provide a step by step process to get you going quickly.
