How do you find a solicitor for your legal issues and can you recommend one?

 One of the problems I found as an SME and requiring legal advice only occasionally was choosing a solicitor from the thousands out there. Best route seemed to be word of mouth from friends, colleagues so I have now set up www.legallybetter.com for users of solicitors to post their comments and ratings of legal services provided and for others to find a solicitor based on these comments.

Any other thoughts on finding and using a solicitor would be appreciated.
